About

Hi - I'm Diana, I own and operate the Anemone Reads book shops:

ANEMONE READS VINTAGE ~ shop for vintage books - cookbooks, children's books, vintage paperbacks, classic literature, and more!  Many are just to tickle that sense of nostalgia, and a few are actually rare and quite collectible.

ANEMONE READS PAPERIE ~ Sometimes awesome old books are too damaged and worn to continue its life as a book, so I reuse the materials - papers, boards, prints - to give the book new life.  These upcycled and recycled items highlight some of the awesomeness that old books possess beyond of just the words - paper quality, thick ink pressed into the pages, the bright colors and prints.  So far we offer book illustrated prints, many which are great for framing and adding some bookish decor to your walls.  We have great plans to add many more items!

ANEMONE READS at Amazon.com ~ where our foray into bookselling began.  Modern used books for the masses at great prices!  My shop has sold more 12,000 books over the past three years to people all over the world.

Though owning a bookstore (or three!) is a dream come true, I admit my formal education gave me no direct training as a bookseller.  I went in armed only with a great love (some say obsession) with books, a whole lot of years working for other people, and a great desire to never work for anyone else again.  I found I really love researching old books, digging up the secret past of authors and illustrators, what they created and why.  Each book I find sparks a bit of delight in me, and I hope to share that delight with others.

My business acumen is also quite green, so I'll be sharing some of my experience as a fledgling small business entrepreneur  - in the hopes of inspiring others to take up this great call of business ownership and financial independence!

I hope this blog opens up sharing and communication!  I would love to hear from you, any comments or questions are welcome!  Feel free to comment on posts, or email me at anemone reader[at]gmail[dot]com.
